Orting High School, a member of the 2A SPSL, is seeking applicants for the position of Head Girl's Flag Football Coach.

About the role

This coaching position supports the high school winter season, with practices and games scheduled immediately after school. High school dismissal is 2:15 PM Monday–Thursday and 12:45 PM on Friday. Exact season dates for 2026-27 are to be determined.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective flag-football techniques and game strategies
  • Communicate positively and effectively with students, parents, staff, and community members
  • Organize and run a competitive high-school program
  • Motivate teenage athletes to reach their highest potential both athletically and academically through sportsmanship
  • Meet all Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (W.I.A.A.) coaching standards
  • Complete required Vector Solutions (SafeSchools) trainings within thirty days of hire

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum age of 21
  • Current first aid and CPR certification
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate after-school practices and games

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coaching or participating in flag football
  • Knowledge of bowling techniques and strategies
  • Successful experience working with teenage athletes
  • Strong organizational and written/oral communication skills

Pay

Compensation follows the 2025-26 OXA Extra-Curricular Salary Schedule Appendix A, paid at 2026-27 rates for the flag-football season.

Eligibility for district benefits depends on total hours worked during the previous two school years (September 1–August 31). Coaching positions may not qualify for benefits unless the employee is also a regular district employee anticipated to work 630 hours or more in a year. Eligible benefits include:
