About the Role

Lakeside School, an independent 5-12 coeducational day school located in North Seattle, is seeking a Girls Flag Football Head Coach. The season begins in mid-November and concludes in mid-February, 2027.

This coach, reporting to the director of athletics, will join an athletics program that includes 26 varsity teams, most of which have both sub-varsity and middle-school counterparts.

Responsibilities

  • Compliance with all Lakeside School, Metro League, and WIAA policies and procedures.
  • Commitment to providing supports, messaging, actions, and opportunities to a diverse student body with different and evolving lived experiences and levels of athletic preparation.
  • Supervision and instruction of student-athletes during team activities.
  • Management of day-to-day operations, including field set-up, game-day preparations, and coordination of support staff.
  • Maintenance and inventory of team equipment and apparel.
  • Attendance at required program and interscholastic athletics meetings.
  • Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes.
  • Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • At least 25 years of age, with a clean driving record preferred.
  • Availability for all practices and competitions from 3pm daily during the coaching season, including weekends as required.
  • Experience coaching football (flag or traditional) at the middle school, high school, or college level.
  • Demonstrated cultural awareness, including knowledge of personal cultural lenses and the ability to interact respectfully with diverse perspectives.
  • Possess or obtain current First Aid/CPR certification prior to the start of the season.
  • Satisfactorily complete two criminal background checks.

Pay

Stipend range: $8,000–$10,000, paid in monthly installments during the primary competition season.
