Head for Research and Teaching Services

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise faculty and staff in the Research and Teaching Services department
• Participate in teaching, reference services, and outreach as a Research Librarian
• Lead assessment initiatives and recommend departmental policies and procedures
• Cookbook onboarding and mentoring for new hires
• Conduct training sessions for new librarians during their tenure-track period
• Facilitate department meetings regularly
• Advise on departmental and campus initiatives
• Collaborate with the Bloomfield Campus Library on joint projects
• Represent the department on the Library Administrative Team
• Engage in professional associations to align services with emerging trends in librarianship

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited library school
• Five years of professional library experience in public services, specifically in reference and teaching
• Strong record of effective teaching and instructional design
• Experience in an academic or research library setting
• Familiarity with the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy and critical pedagogy
• Demonstrated leadership in supporting employee development
• Excellent communication skills for building positive relationships and partnerships
• Experience leading teams effectively
• Record of professional service and scholarly activity
• Strong cultural awareness and commitment to equitable learning opportunities
