About the role

Provides strategic leadership and oversight of research development, governance, and administration across UWA India.
Drafts and implements UWA India’s research strategy, ensuring strong research governance, compliance, and integrity.
Fosters institutional research capability and aligns it with academic standards and strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement UWA India’s research strategy, ensuring strong research governance, compliance, and integrity.
• Builds institutional research capability and fosters a culture of high-quality research aligned with academic standards and strategic priorities.
• Establishes and manages research governance and compliance frameworks.
• Develops and leads competitive grant applications and manages funded research programs.
• Manages and oversees external research partnerships.

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualifications, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education, with postgraduate qualifications in a research discipline or research management highly regarded.
• Demonstrated senior leadership experience in research management, research development, or a related function within a higher education or research-intensive environment.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing research strategy and building institutional research capability.
• Proven track record in research funding development, including experience leading competitive grant applications and managing funded research programs.
• Proven experience establishing and managing research governance and compliance frameworks.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education, with postgraduate qualifications in a research discipline or research management highly regarded.
