About the Role
Athletic coaches lead a competitive program that emphasizes sportsmanship, integrity, and teamwork. The coach is a key leader who fosters athletic and academic excellence while maintaining professional boundaries and clear communication within the school community.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-quality practice plans and competition strategies focused on student growth.
- Maintain proactive, clear, and professional communication with student-athletes, parents, school administration, and community stakeholders.
- Attend all scheduled practices, games, and departmental events, including "Raider Council" meetings and other requirements outlined in the Coaches Handbook.
- Ensure full compliance with all District policies, WIAA rules, and state/federal statutes.
- Maintain the highest standards of ethical conduct and professional boundaries with students and staff at all times.
- Create a safe, inclusive environment for all participants. Demonstrate appropriate conduct while representing the District on and off-site.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- Proficiency in communicating effectively in person, via phone, and through digital/electronic platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous coaching experience
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods during practices and contests.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, or pushing of athletic equipment and materials.
- Flexibility to work in various settings, including school athletic facilities, outdoor fields, and off-site venues for away competitions.
