Head Basketball Coach (Part-time Temporary)

Compensation: $2,500 (Seasonal)
About The Role
One City Preparatory Academy seeks a passionate basketball coach to lead our scholar-athletes and develop our inaugural basketball program during the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate understands that coaching extends beyond the court—it's about molding young lives and building character alongside athletic skills.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with, challenge, and motivate scholar-athletes
- Plan and lead coherent training sessions and program development
- Communicate regularly with families regarding scholar progress
- Manage program budget and maintain accurate records
- Facilitate skill development activities for younger ages to build program foundation
- Meet annual requirements of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association
Qualifications
- Required:
- High school diploma or higher
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or ability to certify)
- Strong commitment to One City's mission of serving all students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Preferred:
- 2+ years coaching/playing experience
- Previous varsity coaching experience
- Experience working with high school-age students
- Experience with racially, ethnically, and linguistically diverse youth
