Head Basketball Coach - Boys / Spaulding Middle School

About the role

The position involves coaching basketball at Spaulding Middle School for the 2026 - 2027 school year. The successful candidate must have a valid South Carolina teaching credential and secondary certification, though alternatives may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a visible commitment to student athletes, community, and instructional leadership.
• Motivate, relate, and work with middle school students on and off the court.
• Maximize the individual potential of middle school students.
• Work with the principal and athletic director.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A valid South Carolina teaching credential and secondary certification are preferred.
• A negative TB test must be on file prior to starting work.
• A complete application packet must be submitted through the online application system.
• All required application documents must be submitted before the posted deadline.
• For DCSD Employees: Submit a "Request to Interview for Transfer" form for approval.

Qualifications

• Valid South Carolina teaching credential preferred.
• Secondary certification preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Experience at the middle/high school level in motivating and developing a championship level program.
