MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL HEAD COACH

Location: Manitou Springs School District, 405 El Monte Place, Manitou Springs, CO 80829

Reports to: Athletic Director

Fingerprint/background screening required. Certified teacher or willing to obtain CHSAA certification. Coaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize, plan, and administer a sports program.
• Perform duties assigned which support the goals of the athletic department and school.
• Coach students in the fundamentals and techniques of the sport.
• Assist each participating student to achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.

Experience

• High school and college playing experience in basketball.
• Three to five years of experience coaching at a middle school or higher level in basketball is preferred.

Skills

• In-depth knowledge of basketball.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders within and outside the school environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal relation skills.

Schedule

Seasonal – 1.5 hours a day, 60-day season.
