About the Role
The Licensed Athletic Trainer II will serve as the Head Athletic Trainer for Wisconsin Lutheran College, providing leadership to the team of athletic trainers and ensuring exceptional sports medicine care for all student-athletes. Wisconsin Lutheran College is a member of the NCAA Division III and participates in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC). The role provides comprehensive athletic health care in accordance with an evaluation and treatment protocol established by the athletic trainer and approved by the consulting physician.
Responsibilities
- Injury or illness prevention programs
- Evaluation, management, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries or illness while participating in physical activity
- Participation in other department activities designed to enhance patient/athlete care and programs
- Program development, staff education and student supervision and/or assistance in department supervision and day-to-day operations
- Demonstrate solid leadership skills
- Other duties as assigned
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience meeting requirements of Level 2 responsibilities as determined by interview and assessment
- Minimum of 5 years experience preferred
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Athletic Training program or a related field is required
Qualifications
- Must be proficient at all ATC level 2 competencies
- Maintain productivity level and have the potential to take on additional responsibilities
- Demonstrates leadership qualities and consistently models and champions Froedtert & MCW Customer Service Standards
- May require clinical expertise in specific discipline
Licensure
- State of Wisconsin licensure as an Athletic Trainer is required
- Certification as an Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC) is required
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire
