HDD Operator (Horizontal Directional Drill)

About the Role

Primoris Gas Operations, comprising companies such as Q3 Contracting, ARB, Primoris Distribution Services, Snelson, and Pipejacking Trenchless, has over 60 years of experience in the natural gas distribution industry. We are hiring Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) Operators for our Little Canada, MN location. The HDD Operator’s primary responsibility is to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively for the installation of natural gas pipelines, while also supporting the crew with additional duties as required.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement (top priority).
• Willingness to work overtime as dictated by workload volumes.
• Backhoe and/or Mini Excavator experience is a plus.
• Working experience in construction or the utility distribution industry (Gas or Electric preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating excavation equipment in the utility industry.
• Technical thinking and ability to read standards and schematics.
• Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) experience is preferred.
• Willingness to travel as needed for projects.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Continuous standing, walking (primarily on uneven surfaces), turning, stooping, kneeling, crouching, speaking, and hearing.

Work Environment

• Exposure to outside weather conditions, including wet/humid conditions, cold, heat, and humidity.
• Potential exposure to loud noise levels.
• Frequent exposure to slow- or fast-moving traffic.
• Subject to varying ground surface temperatures.
