HDD Large Rig Superintendent

About the role

The HDD Superintendent oversees daily operations of HDD crew, ensuring safety and efficiency. They also coordinate with customers, local officials, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of HDD crew
• Monitor, direct, and participate in all duties of HDD crew
• Meet with customers, local officials, locate services, and subcontractors
• Conduct daily safety tailgate briefings
• Procure and arrange materials for timely delivery
• Maintain daily company records
• Promote safety practices and maintain good housekeeping
• Ensure equipment and vehicles are maintained and kept clean
• Assure proper tooling is available for drills on job site
• Affirm company policies and procedures are implemented and followed

Qualifications & Required Knowledge/Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience running and operating large rig HDD operations
• At least 3000 feet of 20-inch HDD crossings experience
• Valid driver's license with a good, clean driving record
• CDL preferred
• Knowledge of underground oil/gas transmission systems construction and maintenance
• Understanding of safety regulations, OSHA regulations, first aid, and resuscitation methods
• Knowledge of local and state regulations, rules, specifications, and operating practices
• Ability to read and interpret plans and written instructions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
• Consistent travel required throughout United States
