General Summary
The health center housekeeper is responsible for maintaining and cleaning resident rooms and common areas, including cleaning, mopping, removing trash, and more. The role involves keeping residents' homes as clean and odor free as possible, maintaining schedules, and performing other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and Director.
Job Duties
- Maintain a clean and fresh environment in all assigned areas of campus
- Responsible for day-to-day operations of housekeeping chores, completing work orders assigned
- Perform any of the essential duties of housekeeping
- Ensure all assigned areas are cleaned according to schedule
- Perform cleaning duties in assigned areas
- Always follow safety regulations and established infection control and chemical safety protocol
- Clean and maintain assigned work areas and equipment
- Maintain and ensure resident items are taken care of and cleaned as necessary
- Ensure all documentation and check lists are completed daily as assigned
- Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene and comply with department dress code
- Attend in-service training and education sessions assigned
- Complete various side jobs as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic
- Uses a cash register and makes change
- Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, push, pull carts, and perform other physical movements
- Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with, and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates
- Must be able to perform duties in a timely manner consistent with resident needs and assigned schedules
- Must be able to understand and effectively support and apply DRV policies and procedures
- Must be able to communicate effectively with seniors, their guests, and DRV staff members
- Must be able to work with chemicals safely
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment
- Must be able to work around chemicals and viruses
- Must be able to make beds, sweep, mop, and vacuum
Pay
$17.30 – $20.08 per hour, DOE
Schedule
Full time, Tuesday – Saturday
