Housekeeper

Position Summary

Provide exemplary service to members and prospective members, demonstrating good human relation skills and a willingness to help maintain building and grounds.

Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas, including such duties as mopping, dusting, and trash removal. May complete duties related to window washing, meeting set up, pool cleaning, snow removal, grounds keeping, and other related responsibilities.

Essential Functions

• Ensures Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintaining upkeep of assigned area and equipment.
• May perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, pool cleaning, painting, vacuuming, seasonal activities dealing with lawn care and snow removal, and general cleaning.
• Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
• Records and reports all needed repairs; repairs as directed.
• Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Sets up furniture for events.

Requirements

• YMCA CAUSE DRIVEN LEADER COMPETENCIES: Communication & Influence, Collaboration
• Six months or more of related experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
• Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
• Abides by all YMCA COVID sanitation practices and standards.

Working Conditions And Physical Requirements

• Indoor and outdoor facility environment.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, crouching, kneeling, twisting, and working at or near ground level.
• Lifting, pulling, carrying, or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds and may involve the use of ladders or platforms as necessary to perform assigned duties.
• The use of cleaning equipment, tools, and chemical products, including cleaners and solutions in liquid, powder, spray, or aerosol forms.
• Narrow or confined spaces and operating cleaning or other motorized equipment as appropriate.

Compensation & Benefits

• Wage Range: $12.77 - $16.00 hourly
• Salary Description: $14-$16/hour
