Hazardous Materials Technician I

Summary Of Duties

• Follows procedures with exactness to assist with labeling of hazardous materials.
• Assists with inventory and proper storage of little complexity of hazardous materials.
• Completes paperwork required for transporting hazardous materials.
• Ensures employees’ safe handling of hazardous materials.
• Performs other duties and tasks as required.

Summary Of Minimum Qualifications

• Education equivalent to a High School Diploma with one year of previous related experience.
• Knowledge of local chemical waste regulations and compliance.
• Basic knowledge of transportation rules and regulations of chemical waste.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to solve moderately complex problems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.
• Ability to work well as a team member.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to train and coach team members.

Preferred Qualifications

• Environmental waste management and compliance experience.

• Infectious Control Risk Category II

Pay

Multiple Shifts and Hours to choose from: Days, Swing (Eve), and Nights
