Position Responsibilities
- Determining waste characterization and arranging disposal/recycling of various waste streams
- Recordkeeping of hazardous and other regulated waster
- Preparing shipping documents per DOT and EPA requirements
- Tracking weights of recyclable materials
- Participating with site field operations as needed for obsolete chemicals or abandoned chemicals
- Completing spill reports and other technical writings regarding regulatory requirements
- Interaction with other departments and vendors for the documentation of customers’ waste management
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in natural science, environmental science or engineering
- 1+ years’ experience in environmental science
- Good driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Strong interpersonal and communication (written/oral) skills
- Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Proactive approach to all tasks
Work Requirements
- Work primarily in an office
- Must be physically and mentally able to maintain work in an office setting
- May also be required to work around chemicals and other toxic substances
- Ability to reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, and lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
