Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive test plans for sub-assemblies (actuators, end-effectors) and integrated robotic solutions to validate human-like dexterity and reliability.
- Design, build, and maintain custom automated test equipment, jigs, and fixtures using CAD and rapid prototyping to simulate real-world manipulation tasks.
- Coverage of functional, environmental, and stress testing.
- Analyze results to identify failure modes and work closely with the R&D team on design iterations.
- Lead technical execution for regulatory certifications, including Safety (ISO 10218 for collaborative environments), Ingress Protection (IP), ensuring reliability in challenging industrial environments.
- Create detailed test reports, trace matrices, and certification filings to ensure hardware meets all product requirement documents (PRD).
Qualifications
- Education: BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Experience: 3+ years in hardware testing, ideally within robotics, medical devices, or aerospace.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in 3D CAD (OnShape, SolidWorks) for designing test fixtures. Hands-on experience with lab equipment (Load Cells, Environmental Chambers, etc). Basic python scripting for test automation and data analysis.
- Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with hardware certification processes and working with external labs (UL, ISO, etc.).
