About the role

AWS Hardware Engineering is looking for a senior leader to deliver development, implementation, and reliability for our accelerated GPU offerings in AWS. In this role, you will lead your team through the entire lifecycle of hardware designs—from inception, through manufacturing, implementation, maturation, and deprecation. You will proactively plan to avoid hardware defects and drive any problems to resolution. Your responsibilities include managing a team of hardware engineers and technical program managers, collaborating with ODMs, and engaging internal stakeholders. You will define implementation strategies and report status to senior leadership, directly enabling AWS customers to deliver AI-related offerings and research.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of hardware engineers and technical program managers to deliver novel hardware designs from inception to deprecation.
  • Plan and execute strategies to avoid hardware defects and drive problems to zero.
  • Manage relationships with ODMs and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
  • Define implementation strategies and report status to senior leadership.
  • Enable AWS customers to deliver AI-related offerings and research through reliable GPU infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Hardware Engineering or Firmware Development.
  • Hands-on experience designing, developing, and operationally supporting high-volume enterprise servers.
  • Experience with system-level analysis and debug.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing both Hardware and Software/Systems Development teams.
  • Experience leading server development teams (Hardware or Firmware).
  • Experience working with CM/OEM/ODM vendors for design development and manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior executives.
  • High attention to detail and effective communication skills.

Pay

  • USA, CA, Cupertino: $201,300.00 - $272,400.00 USD annually
  • USA, WA, Seattle: $175,100.00 - $236,900.00 USD annually
