Hardscape Construction Crew Member
Position Overview
The Landscape/Hardscape Installation Crew Member is responsible for following directions given by Production Manager and Crew Leader, effectively communicating with leaders and co-workers, maintaining a safe work site, meeting deadlines and company performance standards, using industry tools and equipment safely and proficiently, and performing light equipment maintenance.

Day-to-Day Stuff
- Adhere consistently to established quality and safety standards
- Demonstrate competency in operating landscape-construction equipment
- Maintain deadlines and expectations expressed by Crew Leader
- Communicate effectively with crew leader and crew members
- Perform light maintenance on equipment in the field, as needed
- Meet project specific production deadlines
- Other assigned duties during Winter months include preparation for upcoming projects, organizing inventory, and shop work
- Other duties as assigned
Characteristics Needed to Succeed
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and the ability to be added onto company’s insurance policy
- Minimum of 1 year of landscape construction experience
- Experience working with retaining walls, patios, edging, planting and grading
- Experience using basic hand tools such as tape measure, level, hammer, chisel, etc.
- Experience using a concrete/cut-off saw and transit laser
- Skid loader/excavator equipment experience
- Knowledge of proper tool and equipment maintenance
- Ability to problem solve
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Accurately record hours worked on a daily basis, as expected per project
- Ability to lift wall block repeatedly
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions
- Ability to work alternate hours and travel to multiple locations, as needed
- Must be available for extended hours during snow events; mandatory overtime
Physical Demands
- Ability to hear, corrected to normal
- Frequent standing and walking
- Occasional bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing
- Frequent lifting, pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling up to 128 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and focus
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be expected to work outside in all types of weather conditions; conditions include occasional extreme heat exposure due to natural climate.
- The noise level in the work environment can be loud; vibration levels are moderate.
