Hardie Courtyard
About the venue
Colibrí Mexican Bistro offers private events within the historic Presidio Officers’ Club in San Francisco’s Presidio neighborhood, just steps from landmarks like the Earth Wall installation and a short stroll from the Golden Gate Bridge. The venue features a turn-of-the-century cantina ambiance, combining rich Mesoamerican color palettes with rustic Spanish-colonial décor, high-backed booths, dark-stained wood, and decorative tequila bottles, all warmed by ambient lighting and occasional black and white Latino film projections.
Indoor seating accommodates up to around 75 guests, with an adjoining back room for about 40 and cocktail receptions up to 125, a setup ideal for both seated dinners and mingling events.
Culinarily
The kitchen blends authentic family recipes from Central Mexico, such as mole poblano, ceviche, and chiles rellenos, with modern influences from Aztec, Mayan, French, and Spanish traditions.
Executive Chef Edgar Castro, trained in both Mexican and Bay Area kitchens, crafts seasonal dishes like lamb shank wrapped in banana leaf, huitlacoche stuffed chicken, quesabirria, as well as indoor fresh guacamole and estofado vegetable sides.
Private event guests can enjoy full service catering either on site or at alternative venues, including handcrafted cocktails and a full mezcal and tequila bar.
Outdoor
The outdoor heated patio is pet friendly and perfect for evening gatherings, enhanced by live music on select weekdays.
Getting there
Parking is available in the Moraga Avenue lot adjacent to the venue, including accessible spaces, with additional public lots one block away at Mason and O’Farrell or under Union Square.
