Position Summary
The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) oversees daily operations at a Hardee’s restaurant, aligning with the brand's vision, mission, and promise. They lead by example, embodying CKE’s Core Values, and ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas.
Essential Functions
- Demonstrates CKE’s Core Values while building high-performing employees through selection, training, retention, and recognition using appropriate tools and processes.
- Identifies and develops a talent pipeline through effective succession planning.
- Executes the company’s performance management process to ensure employees are supported and held accountable.
- Reinforces and adheres to the “Open Door” Policy with all employees.
- Supervises the restaurant by monitoring and training staff on all shifts, including customer service, food preparation, cleaning, and stocking.
- Moves between locations to support operations, attend meetings, and transport products and supplies.
- Collaborates with Human Resources to resolve employee relations issues and comply with legal requirements.
- Works the assigned schedule to cover all day parts (breakfast, lunch, dinner, late night, weekends).
- Promotes a customer-focused culture by exemplifying excellent customer service and training staff to meet or exceed service standards.
- Coaches, drives excellence, and holds the team accountable for core operational procedures using company systems.
- Maintains food safety standards through direct observation and follow-up on audits, ensuring proper training in Servsafe, TAPS, or equivalent.
- Ensures restaurant-level plans and marketing initiatives are in place and executed, collaborating with the District Manager on Local Store Marketing plans.
- Analyzes sales, labor, inventory, and controllables regularly and implements corrective actions to meet or exceed margin and sales growth targets.
- Conducts fiscal period business reviews with the restaurant management team to enhance their ability to address performance gaps.
- Shares best practices with the team and across the district.
- Communicates effectively with all levels of internal and external contacts.
- Takes initiative to supervise and perform other duties to keep the restaurant clean, safe, and operating efficiently.
Position Qualifications/Core Competencies
- High School Diploma/General Educational Development (GED) required; associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in restaurant operation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance for travel between locations.
- Effective communication skills, fostering open and honest interactions within the team.
- Customer-focused, prioritizing service and exceeding customer expectations.
- Develops talent by creating an environment for growth and engagement.
- Excellence in execution, focusing on cost analysis to ensure profitability and adherence to standards.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
A fast-paced environment requiring constant movement in and around all areas of the restaurant. Requires standing/walking for extended periods, bending, stooping, reaching overhead, working in a warm environment near kitchen equipment, lifting up to 50 lbs. on occasion, and working with various cleaning products.
