Your Responsibilities
- Complete small to medium maintenance and repairs for home and commercial projects (project length ranges from two hours to two days)
- Communicate with customers to help them understand what needs to be done and manage expectations about scope of work and costs
- Deliver a great experience that creates life-long repeat customers following the Mr. Handyman Way process
Performance Measures
- Customer Satisfaction (NPS) – encourage customer surveys; need high response rate and high satisfaction rate
- Revenue Target – find additional ways to be of service to the customer
- Effective Billing Rate – invoice appropriately, source materials, and collect payment
- Recall Percentage – all work guaranteed for one year; work must be done correctly the first time
Job Requirements
- Live within the area
- 5+ years’ experience as a paid handyman
- Own your own tools
- Insurable for driving company vehicle
- Complete background and driving record check
- Able to lift 50 pounds independently
- Able to safely work at heights and overhead for extended periods
- Professional appearance and maintenance of company-provided vehicle
- Self-manage as you’ll be alone often
- Speak with customers, provide excellent customer service, ask for reviews, and collect payments
- Have necessary tools and ability to use technology
- Document the job following the Mr. Handyman Way process
- Wear proper PPE and booties to protect customer’s home
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in at least three of the following:
- Carpentry work
- Bathroom improvements
- Kitchen improvements
- Painting, inside and out
- Drywall work, minor and major repairs
- General plumbing and electrical, where allowed by law
- Floor installation and refurbishing
- Familiar with building codes
