Your Responsibilities

• Complete small to medium maintenance and repairs for home and commercial projects (project length ranges from two hours to two days)
• Communicate with customers to help them understand what needs to be done and manage expectations about scope of work and costs
• Deliver a great experience that creates life-long repeat customers following the Mr. Handyman Way process

Performance Measures

• Customer Satisfaction (NPS) – encourage customer surveys; need high response rate and high satisfaction rate
• Revenue Target – find additional ways to be of service to the customer
• Effective Billing Rate – invoice appropriately, source materials, and collect payment
• Recall Percentage – all work guaranteed for one year; work must be done correctly the first time

Job Requirements

• Live within the area
• 5+ years’ experience as a paid handyman
• Own your own tools
• Insurable for driving company vehicle
• Complete background and driving record check
• Able to lift 50 pounds independently
• Able to safely work at heights and overhead for extended periods
• Professional appearance and maintenance of company-provided vehicle
• Self-manage as you’ll be alone often
• Speak with customers, provide excellent customer service, ask for reviews, and collect payments
• Have necessary tools and ability to use technology
• Document the job following the Mr. Handyman Way process
• Wear proper PPE and booties to protect customer’s home

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in at least three of the following:
  • Carpentry work
  • Bathroom improvements
  • Kitchen improvements
  • Painting, inside and out
  • Drywall work, minor and major repairs
  • General plumbing and electrical, where allowed by law
  • Floor installation and refurbishing
  • Familiar with building codes
