Responsibilities

• Complete small to medium maintenance and repairs for residential and commercial projects, ranging from two hours to two days in length.
• Communicate with customers to clarify their needs, manage expectations about scope and costs, and make recommendations.
• Deliver a great customer experience following the Mr. Handyman Way to create life-long repeat customers.
• Encourage customers to complete satisfaction surveys to maintain high Net Promoter Scores (NPS).
• Identify and pursue additional service opportunities to meet revenue targets.
• Invoice appropriately, source materials, and collect payments from customers.
• Ensure work is completed correctly the first time to minimize recall percentage (work is guaranteed for one year).
• Self-manage while working independently, including documenting jobs and following processes.
• Wear proper PPE and use booties to protect customers’ homes.

Requirements

• Live within the Oak Ridge, Tennessee area.
• 5+ years of paid handyman experience.
• Own your own tools.
• Be insurable for driving a company vehicle.
• Pass a background and driving record check.
• Able to lift 50 pounds independently.
• Able to safely work at heights and overhead for extended periods.
• Maintain a professional appearance and care for the company-provided vehicle.
• Strong proficiency in at least three of the following areas:
  • Carpentry work
  • Bathroom improvements
  • Kitchen improvements
  • Interior and exterior painting
  • Drywall work (minor and major repairs)
  • General plumbing and electrical (where allowed by law)
  • Floor installation and refurbishing
  • Familiarity with building codes
