Hand Therapist - Orthopedic Urgent Care (per diem)

About the role

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for ensuring the PNHS values are achieved through daily departmental operations. This includes direct patient care, professional growth and development, outcome/competency monitoring, compliance with professional organizations, regulatory standards, and regulatory agencies. They also participate in process improvements to enhance patient care outcomes and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with staff, patients, patient family members, physicians, and other internal/external customers in a timely, clear, and professional manner.
• Demonstrate skills in listening, conflict management, system problem solving, decision-making, and process improvement.
• Practice in compliance with professional standards and ethical codes.
• Partner with leaders to improve departmental performance through activities like community events, presentations, and program/department improvement initiatives.
• Participate in three professional pursuits annually, which may include community events, presentations, programs, projects, or committee participation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Three years’ experience as an occupational therapist.
• Licensed with the Minnesota Department of Health.
• Emphasis in a specific area of clinical expertise.
• Leadership qualities and role modeling within the clinic.
• Proficiency with communication and data processing equipment.
• Proficiency in clinical apparatus and organization electronic medical record software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Recommend membership in related professional organizations such as AOTA, MOTA, or ASHT.
