Job Overview

As a Merchandiser Floater you’ll work independently to showcase your organization and time‑management skills, establish retailer relationships, and serve as the face of Hallmark. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement, maintain inventory levels, and support fellow team members with seasonal resets and installations when needed. Occasionally you may work with products from other companies in the stores you service.

Salary and Schedule

Your starting hourly pay rate is $12.00 – $14.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience. This is a part‑time position with a variable schedule during the work week, averaging 8‑12 hours per week. Availability the week before and after major holidays (including weekends) and for season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support is required.

Responsibilities

  • Day‑to‑day engagement: Using a Hallmark‑provided mobile device, restock, organize, and monitor inventory of Hallmark products within and outside the Hallmark department; communicate with supervisors, report time, provide feedback, and complete required surveys.
  • Holiday support: Provide additional days and extended hours around holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas; work on the actual holiday or weekend when needed.
  • Department resets: Participate in installations, build and install Hallmark fixtures, relocate card departments and products, and reset card sections; receive notification roughly two weeks in advance for remodel assignments, which may include evenings or weekends.
  • One Team Vision: Support other merchandisers in your network as needed across territories.

Physical Requirements

This role is physically demanding and requires a high level of energy and urgency. You will work on the sales floor and in back stockrooms, consistently pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 lb (up to 50 lb on occasion). You must be able to kneel, squat, walk, stand, and may need to climb stairs and step ladders throughout the workday.

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 lb frequently and 50 lb occasionally.
  • Ability to operate a digital hand‑held device to open and read documents and interpret information.
  • Access to a Wi‑Fi network and the internet.
  • Consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
