About the role

As a Merchandiser Floater you'll work independently to showcase your organization and time management skills, build retailer relationships, and represent Hallmark. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement, maintain inventory levels, and assist with seasonal resets and installations when needed. On occasion you may also service products from other companies in the stores you support.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day engagement: Using a Hallmark-provided mobile device, restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark products inside and outside the Hallmark department; use the device for communication with your supervisor, time reporting, feedback, and survey completion.
  • Professional interaction: Maintain courteous, professional interactions with store employees, management, and customers.
  • Ownership of Hallmark display: Be responsible for the entire Hallmark product display at each assigned store.
  • Holiday support: Provide additional days and extended hours around major holidays (Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas), including possible work on the actual holiday and weekends.
  • Department resets: Participate in installations and tasks such as building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections; assignments are typically communicated two weeks in advance and may require evenings or weekends.
  • Team support: Assist other merchandisers in their territories as needed within Hallmark's field organization.

Physical Requirements

  • Physically demanding role requiring high energy and urgency.
  • Work on the selling floor and in back stockrooms.
  • Consistently push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent kneeling, squatting, walking, and standing; may require climbing stairs and step ladders.

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Able to operate a digital hand-held device to open and read documents and interpret information.
  • Access to a Wi-Fi network and the internet.
  • Access to consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.

Pay

Starting hourly pay rate is $14.00 – $16.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

Schedule

  • Part-time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
  • Average weekly hours up to 15.
  • Required availability the week before and after major holidays, including weekends.
  • Availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.
