About the Role
Monitor students during lunch/recess, hallways, and any other unstructured time periods. Assist and support school staff as needed, providing guidance to students who require additional assistance.
Responsibilities
- Supervise assigned building areas.
- Promote and follow school policies and procedures.
- Communicate regularly with other staff members.
- Treat all information about the school, teachers, children, and their families as strictly confidential.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of experience working with secondary school-age students preferred.
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and focus on excellent customer service.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as textbooks, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of students or employees.
- Basic mathematical skills, including calculating percentages, proportions, and basic algebra/geometry.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit, stand, communicate, and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to walk, use fingers, tools, or controls.
- Occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment
- Noise level is usually quiet.
- Continuously required to meet deadlines with severe time constraints.
- Must interact with the public and other staff.
- May require irregular or extended work hours.
