About the role
LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a bilingual Hakka-Taiwan-English Phone Interpreter to work from home. This is an independent contractor position and not eligible for employee benefits.
Responsibilities
- Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally
- Render correct concepts and meanings according to established protocols
- Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation and enunciation
- Maintain a professional demeanor throughout interpreting sessions
- Stay calm and neutral during emotionally charged calls
- Adapt to any LLS technology enhancements to improve service delivery
- Understand and follow protocol and terminology for various industries
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment
Requirements
- Fluency in Hakka-Taiwan and English with cultural competency
- Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills
- Ability to concentrate and remain detached from conversations
- Experience in language-related fields preferred
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must have access to a quiet space and a dedicated personal device for business purposes
- Must have sufficient manual dexterity to operate a keyboard and mouse
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and write the requested languages (highly preferred)
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to adapt to LLS technology enhancements
Skills
- Fluency in Hakka-Taiwan and English
- Cultural competency and understanding of regional accents
- Professional demeanor and neutrality
- Ability to handle sensitive topics
- Technical proficiency with company-provided software and systems

$2.50 - $2.55 per minute
