Gymnastics Team & Program Director
About the role
We are seeking a passionate gymnastics leader to oversee our competitive team, instructional gymnastics programs, camps, and special events. This role combines coaching, program leadership, staff development, and participant engagement to create exceptional experiences for gymnasts and families while growing one of the YMCA's premier youth programs.
Responsibilities
- Coach and develop YMCA gymnastics team athletes through quality instruction and competitive preparation
- Lead and grow instructional gymnastics programs for participants of all ages and skill levels
- Oversee gymnastics birthday parties, camps, clinics, and special events
- Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and support gymnastics instructors, coaches, volunteers, and party staff
- Cook and develop YMCA gymnastics team athletes through quality instruction and competitive preparation
- Coordinate class schedules, team practices, facility usage, and special events
- Develop new programs and initiatives that increase participation, retention, and program quality
- Maintain participant progress and maintain positive communication with families
- Ensure gymnastics spaces, equipment, and programs meet YMCA safety and quality standards
- Support participant enrollment, retention, and community engagement efforts
- Promote gymnastics programs, camps, events, and team activities
- Maintain program records, schedules, attendance, and required documentation
- Collaborate with YMCA leadership to evaluate program performance and identify opportunities for growth
Requirements
- Experience coaching competitive gymnastics and teaching recreational gymnastics programs
- Experience leading staff, volunteers, or program operations
- Knowledge of gymnastics safety standards and athlete development
- Ability to plan and coordinate multiple programs, events, and schedules simultaneously
- Current gymnastics, CPR, First Aid, or other required certifications, or the ability to obtain them

- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
