Responsibilities
- Assists in overseeing the daily operations of the Sports Club, Fitness Center, Wellness Programs, Group Exercise offerings, and recreation activities.
- Supports the Sports Club Manager in achieving departmental goals, service standards, and operational objectives.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and welcoming environment throughout all Sports Club facilities.
- Ensures compliance with all safety regulations, emergency procedures, and risk management protocols.
- Maintains knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and departmental safety practices.
- Affords leadership, coaching, training, and development for Sports Club colleagues.
- Participates in hiring, onboarding, training, performance coaching, and disciplinary processes as directed by management.
- Maintains high visibility throughout the Sports Club and serves as a resource for members, guests, and colleagues.
- Attends and participates in departmental meetings, leadership meetings, training sessions, and safety meetings.
- Assists in monitoring departmental expenses and operational budgets.
- Functions as Manager on Duty when assigned.
- Executes responsibilities that support Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond, and luxury hospitality service standards.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, speak, give, and follow written or oral directions in English.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Hospitality, Fitness Management, Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a luxury club, resort, fitness center, recreation facility, wellness center, or hospitality environment, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required.
- Valid state driver's license required.
- Experience with scheduling, team leadership, guest service, recreation programming, fitness operations, and wellness services preferred.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of fitness center operations, recreation programming, wellness initiatives, member engagement, and luxury hospitality standards.
- Understanding of labor management, payroll administration, scheduling, safety procedures, and facility maintenance.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and club management software systems.
