About the role
This is a full-time on-site position at West Star Aviation. We are a rapidly expanding MRO provider with a strong commitment to employee growth and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Performing general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
- Removal and installation of panels and components.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving aircraft system/component issues.
- De-fueling aircraft, Engine removal/installations.
- Operating ground support equipment.
- Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components.
- Aircraft movement and assistance in performance runs/ taxiing.
- Notifying the Lead Mechanic of any problem areas.
- Providing a detailed report of work progression and open items.
- Properly tagging Aircraft components, parts, and panels.
- Willing and able to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Effectively and clearly communicating (speaking, writing, reading) in English.
- Performing all work in accordance with FAA guidelines.
- Maintaining customer-oriented work habits.
Requirements
- A High school diploma or equivalent, and Airframe and Powerplant License are required.
- A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal.
- Self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation to get to work each and every day.
- Understanding and implementing regulations and guidelines.
- Troubleshoot or evaluate system operation.
- Work with others in a professional manner.
- Supervise other technicians in some capacity.
Qualifications
- Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
- Physical requirements: Lifts 70 lbs., routine walking, bending, squatting, sitting, routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands, work on elevated platforms, standing for long periods, etc.
- Mental requirements: Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines, troubleshooting or evaluating system operation, working with others in a professional manner.
