About the role

This position is available at West Star Aviation, a leading independent MRO provider with facilities across the United States. As an Aircraft Maintenance Technician, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for maintaining some of the most sophisticated civilian aircraft in the world.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
  • Remove and install panels and components.
  • Troubleshoot and solve aircraft system/component issues.
  • Operate ground support equipment.
  • Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components.
  • Aircraft movement and assistance in performance runs/taxiing.
  • Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment, and tooling.
  • Effectively and clearly communicate (speaking, writing, reading) in English.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Requirements

  • A High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
  • AMT I: Airframe or Powerplant license is required. Airframe license is preferred. 0-2 years of experience in aviation maintenance, avionics, or similar.
  • AMT II: Airframe or Powerplant license is required. Airframe license is preferred. 2-4 years of experience working in aviation maintenance. Experience working on corporate aircraft is preferred but not essential.
  • AMT III: Airframe license is required; in addition, Powerplant license is highly preferred. 4-6+ years’ experience in aviation maintenance. Experience working on corporate aircraft is highly preferred but not essential.
  • AMT IV (Master): Airframe and Powerplant license is required. 6+ years’ experience in aviation maintenance. Subject matter expert in all areas of the job.

Qualifications

  • Self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attend work every day as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments.
  • Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to work each day.
  • Work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
  • Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
  • Maintain customer-oriented work habits.

Skills

  • Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
  • Effective communication (speaking, writing, reading) in English.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $30 - $46. Actual hourly rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.

Schedule

Compensation is provided in the form of a shift differential and weekly competitive pay. Weekly paydays are also offered.
