About the role
The Office Manager plays a central role in ensuring a well-run, efficient, and responsive school. In addition to maintaining the school’s administrative systems and routines, the Office Manager functions as the primary contact person for all the school’s constituents. The Office Manager must be able to communicate effectively with students, teachers, families, trustees, donors, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of the day-to-day activities of the school
- Serving as the main point of contact in the school reception area, greeting and documenting all visitors
- Managing phones (answering calls, re-directing calls, taking messages, placing calls, creating school announcements, etc.)
- Managing the collection and maintenance of student, personnel, and school information
- Managing school-wide daily systems, including attendance
- Planning and managing logistics and preparations for school events and activities as needed
- Managing school maintenance and supply systems, office equipment, and furnishings
- Maintaining school calendar of events
Qualifications
- A strong belief in UP Education Network’s core values: Students, Community, Humility, Resilience, and Humor
- Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree is PREFERRED, not required
- Boston Residency is required
- Candidate must have current authorization to work in the United States
