Guidewire ClaimCenter Developer
About the role
Northwest Partners is engaged in a strategic initiative with a well-established insurance organization and seeks an experienced Guidewire ClaimCenter Developer.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable solutions across Guidewire ClaimCenter and integrated enterprise platforms
- Contribute as a key technical expert on complex property and casualty insurance claims initiatives
- Develop and maintain integrations using REST APIs, messaging services, and middleware technologies
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to system architecture, technical standards, and development practices
- Create proof of concepts to validate technical approaches and emerging capabilities
- Implement secure coding standards and development best practices
- Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes
- Troubleshoot application, integration, and performance issues across Guidewire InsuranceSuite environments
- Optimize application performance using profiling, monitoring, and logging tools
- Participate in Agile delivery processes within a SAFe framework
- Contribute technical expertise to cloud-native and microservices-based solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field
- Extensive experience developing enterprise software solutions
- Strong hands-on experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter
- Expert understanding of the software development lifecycle and modern engineering practices
- Experience identifying development lifecycle inefficiencies and implementing process improvements
- Strong knowledge of software design patterns, architectural principles, and scalable system design
- Experience within property and casualty insurance claims environments
- Knowledge of commercial and personal auto insurance is preferred
- Experience with Java, Gosu, Kotlin, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
- Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and microservices architecture
- Experience with AWS cloud services including messaging, serverless computing, databases, and container platforms
- Experience with SQL, database design, and secure coding practices
- Experience with CI/CD, containerization, and orchestration technologies
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with AI prompt engineering and agentic solutions
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks
- Knowledge of responsive web application development
- Experience with build and dependency management tools
- Strong understanding of Guidewire InsuranceSuite architecture, configuration, and development
- Experience working with Guidewire business rules, message queues, assignment rules, and data models
- Experience developing Guidewire user interfaces and system integrations
- Ability to diagnose and resolve Guidewire application and performance issues
- Guidewire Cloud InsuranceSuite Professional Developer certification is preferred
