Responsibilities
- Proactively greet guests to create a warm and welcoming environment.
- Greet guests with a smile and eye contact, presenting yourself professionally, courteously, and friendlily.
- Ascertaining guest needs and taking appropriate action or providing information, direction, transporting, and escorting as needed.
- Listening carefully and sensitively to guests' needs and wishes, treating them with dignity and respect.
- Communicating at all times in a way that supports patient confidentiality.
- Answering all telephone calls within 3 rings using established greetings.
- Providing accurate information to physicians, clergy, volunteers, and hospital staff as requested or required.
- Handling emergency situations calmly and promptly.
- Continuously observing and maintaining the assigned area for potential safety or security issues, ensuring overall neatness and cleanliness.
- Notifying appropriate personnel to take corrective action if necessary.
- Aiding in the training of new employees and volunteers for departmental job duties.
- Assisting in information flow between patient families, clinical areas, and physicians.
- Supporting and assisting various departments on an as-needed basis.
- Validating parking tickets for incoming and discharged patients, emergency department visits, clergy, visitors of patient day of surgery procedures, end-of-life, hospice, interview candidates, new hire health screenings, and FBI fingerprinting.
- Attending educational in-service classes and departmental staff meetings.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent GED.
- One year of customer service-related work experience.
- Drivers License required for ABBCI location.
Qualifications
- Computer experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Lancaster County preferred.
