About the Role
As a Guest Services Attendant, you will serve as a ticket taker and/or usher, distributing programs and escorting patrons to their seats. You will assist with last-minute pre-event needs, including setting up, decorating, and locating materials, as well as addressing emergency patron needs. Special accommodations will be provided for wheelchair users, physically challenged patrons, senior citizens, students, and groups.
Responsibilities
- Work in conjunction with House Managers.
- Serve as the first line of support for patron issues and concerns.
- Act as a ticket taker and/or usher, distributing programs and escorting patrons to their seats.
- Serve as a coat check attendant.
- Assist with last-minute pre-event needs, such as setting up, decorating, and finding materials.
- Provide special accommodations for wheelchairs and other physically challenged patrons, senior citizens, students, and groups.
- Work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. and one (1) to two (2) years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
- Exceptional customer relations, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others.
- Flexibility to adjust to changing situations.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly move around the facility and stand for long hours during events.
- Work inside or outside the building as needed by events.
- Stoop and lift materials; must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
