Guest Services Ambassador

About the role

The Greater Columbus Convention Center is seeking a Guest Services Ambassador to join our team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, navigating visitors to their destinations, and offering detailed information about the facility and local attractions.

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet guests, offering assistance and answering their questions
• Guide visitors to their desired locations within and outside the facility
• Provide information about local attractions and amenities
• Manage administrative tasks such as retail transactions, copying, faxing, and printing
• Handle scooter and wheelchair rentals
• Communicate with management, security, and staff via two-way radio
• Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Initiate contact with guests within 10 feet, maintaining a positive demeanor
• Address guest complaints and concerns, ensuring their satisfaction
• Interact with large groups or individual guests as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• At least six months of customer service experience
• Previous POS experience is a plus
• Basic computer and internet navigation skills
• Ability to interpret schedules and maps
• Professional appearance and strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Excellent record of dependability and reliability
• Self-motivation and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, symbols, and colors
