About the role
The Greater Columbus Convention Center is seeking a Guest Services Ambassador to join our team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, navigating visitors to their destinations, and offering detailed information about the facility and local attractions.
Responsibilities
- Meet and greet guests, offering assistance and answering their questions
- Guide visitors to their desired locations within and outside the facility
- Provide information about local attractions and amenities
- Manage administrative tasks such as retail transactions, copying, faxing, and printing
- Handle scooter and wheelchair rentals
- Communicate with management, security, and staff via two-way radio
- Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Initiate contact with guests within 10 feet, maintaining a positive demeanor
- Address guest complaints and concerns, ensuring their satisfaction
- Interact with large groups or individual guests as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- At least six months of customer service experience
- Previous POS experience is a plus
- Basic computer and internet navigation skills
- Ability to interpret schedules and maps
- Professional appearance and strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Excellent record of dependability and reliability
- Self-motivation and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment

- Eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity
- Listening and hearing abilities
- Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, symbols, and colors
- Positive attitude and ability to work independently
