Guest Services Agent

About the role

The Study at University of Chicago is seeking a full-time Guest Service Agent to provide exceptional hospitality and service to guests. This role operates the Front Desk and Living Room under the direction of the Guest Service Manager.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest level of hospitality and customer service
• Complete guest check-in and check-out processes, including assigning rooms and facilitating payment
• Maintain room inventory and respond to guest inquiries
• Coordinate with hotel departments to manage guest requests and answer inquiries
• Set up and schedule wake-up calls, make restaurant recommendations, and resolve billing issues and complaints
• Calculate and post charges, receipts, and other forms of payment
• Assist other team members to ensure the best performance of the department and the hotel
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of experience in a customer-facing role
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Positive interpersonal communication and ability to interact with all hotel departments
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Qualifications

• Ability to maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor
• Strong organizational skills, including follow-up, time management, and multitasking
• Proficiency in English, with a second language being desirable
