Responsibilities

  • Review and update in-house rooming lists, arrivals, and departures daily.
  • Change bedding, replace bath towels, hand towels, face cloths, bath mats, and other linens as needed.
  • Replenish guest amenities and mini bar items, reporting usage to the Front Desk.
  • Wipe down and sanitize all surfaces using assigned chemical agents.
  • Clean shower, toilet, sinks, and bathroom areas.
  • Sweep, vacuum, Swiffer, and mop floors to maintain high levels of cleanliness.
  • Take responsibility for final room checks, ensuring impeccable maintenance and readiness for guest check-in.
  • Greet and interact with guests as needed, handling requests with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Ensure guest privacy and discretion at all times.
  • Check and update room statuses in the Property Management System (PMS).
  • Complete PM turn-down service when assigned.
  • Communicate lost and found items to the Front Desk.
  • Restock laundry carts and housekeeping closets daily.
  • Clean public spaces and employee areas as assigned.
  • Clean all guestrooms to the satisfaction of the Housekeeping Supervisor and in line with department standards.
  • Check the condition of paper products in guest rooms and replenish as needed.
  • Inform the Housekeeping Supervisor of any stains, missing items, or additional charges to the room.
  • Replace glassware for new arrivals, ensuring all guest room items are clean and fresh.
  • Make and undo cots/air mattresses, place in appropriate storage, and deliver to rooms when necessary.
  • Return dishes, glassware, and ice buckets to the dish station.
  • Verify all items in the room are in good working condition.
  • Adhere to security procedures for guest room and master keys.
  • Adhere to sign-in/sign-out procedures for department keys.
  • Clean and organize the housekeeping area at the end of each shift, setting up the next shift for success.
  • Communicate with other departments, such as addressing maintenance issues or front desk concerns.
  • Aid guests with luggage, especially for large groups.
  • Attend departmental meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Assist in training new staff as requested.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of professional cleaning experience, preferably in a hotel or lodging environment.
  • Successfully completed a background check.
  • A highly-detailed person with a passion for excellence.
  • Available and willing to work flexible hours, including weekdays and weekends.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Sincere enthusiasm for the role and cleanliness.
  • Able to prioritize, delegate, and respond in a timely manner.
  • Able to work under pressure, multi-task, and maintain focus.

Skills

  • Proficiency in manual dexterity tasks like squeezing, spraying, folding, polishing, scrubbing, dusting, etc.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, and reach frequently, including above head and repetitively during a shift.
  • Visual ability to survey property areas clearly and inspect guest rooms for cleanliness.
  • Effective communication and exchange of information.
  • Basic English reading, writing, speaking, and understanding skills.
  • Ability to work safely and complete assigned tasks.
  • Flexibility to work flexible hours based on business needs, including midweek and weekend days.
