Guest Nurse
Description
Guest nurses manage the health office in the regular nurse's absence by providing first aid for ill and injured children (and staff) and dispensing medication or providing treatment care as directed.
Qualifications
- R.N. registered in Illinois
- Ability to work independently and as part of a student team
- Highly positive attitude with excellent work habits
- Ability to work cooperatively and pleasantly with others
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to serve as a positive role model for children
- Interest in and enthusiasm for the position and education in general
- Appreciation of cultural diversity
- Knowledge of computers and technology is helpful
- Strong sense of creativity
Work Experience Requirements
- Direct experience as a Registered Nurse working with students
Education Requirements
- Completion of professional preparation program
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
Certifications
- CPR/AED Certification required
Working Conditions
GUEST TEACHERS ARE AT-WILL EMPLOYEES - THERE IS NO EXPECTATION OF EMPLOYMENT OR A CONTRACT. Guest teachers/nurses/administrative assistants are placed on the substitute list based on district need; the district reserves the right to remove a substitute from the list at any time for any reason.
Compensation
Guest Nurses are paid at the hourly rate of $30.00.
