Staff Nurse

About the role

Our surgical ward provides care to adult and paediatric patients from a wide range of specialities including ENT, Ophthalmology, Max Fax, Dental, Orthopaedic, paediatric, as well as general surgery. This busy, diverse ward has 22 beds and incorporates a 2 bedded critical care unit.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of care for patients undergoing surgery both as emergencies and list admissions.
• Ensure the environment is safe and effective for delivery of care to adults and children.
• Provide excellent care from admission to discharge.
• Participate in ward audit, clinical quality indicators and safety cross data collection.
• Flexibility to work in other areas of the organisation, either hospital or community based, is essential.

Requirements

• Registered General Nurse.
• Keen to obtain surgical care knowledge and experience.
• Previous surgical experience is an advantage but not necessary.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team are essential.

Salary Range £34,544 - £43,039 per annum.
