About The Venue

This position is based at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, MO. Chaifetz Arena is on the campus of Saint Louis University and is home to the Billikens Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams. The arena has a capacity of 10,600 for basketball and includes 16 suites, Lorenzini's, and the 1818 Lounge. Chaifetz Arena hosts a variety of events, including concerts, family shows, and community events.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all guests.
  • Greet guests and scan tickets as they enter the building or section assigned.
  • Ensure guest compliance with outside food/beverage, camera, bag, and other building policies.
  • Usher guests to their seats and provide directional assistance throughout the facility.
  • Monitor guest conduct and provide assistance to guests.
  • Assist in providing a safe and secure environment for Chaifetz Arena.
  • Report any unsafe equipment or situations to supervisory staff immediately.
  • Perform crowd control management functions.
  • Act as a member of the emergency evacuation team by directing guests to emergency exits.
  • Monitor emergency exits and assist guests with special needs.
  • Move around to various positions/locations based on event needs (usher, ticket taker, suite staff, golf cart operator, elevator attendant, wheelchair attendant, door guard).
  • Hand out materials to guests as needed for events.
  • Follow directions for all event procedures and safety standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients.
  • Exemplify the arena’s GREAT customer experience philosophies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Exceptional customer service experience and skills—outgoing and friendly personality required.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, remaining flexible in role.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

This role pays an hourly rate of $16.00–$20.50.
