Guarini Dean's Dissertation and Postdoctoral Fellowship in Asian American Studies 2026-28
Fellowship Structure
Duration: Two years (2026–2028)
Year 1: Predoctoral Fellowship focused on dissertation completion
Year 2: Postdoctoral Fellowship with one course taught
Community: Fellows join the Provost’s Fellowship Program—a multidisciplinary cohort of approximately ten scholars dedicated to increasing inclusive access in higher education
Fellows are expected to:
- Complete the dissertation by the end of the first year
- Engage fully with the intellectual life of the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program and Dartmouth College
- Participate in mentoring and professional development activities
- Transition to a postdoctoral appointment in the second year and teach one course
Compensation and Support
- Year 1 Predoctoral Stipend: Approx. $49,860
- Year 2 Postdoctoral Stipend: Approx. $67,580
- Benefits: Full benefits package
- Additional Support: Research expense allocation; mentorship and professional development via the Guarini School for Graduate and Advanced Studies
Qualifications
- ABD (All But Dissertation) status in any field
- Research focus related to Asian American Studies
