Guardianship Attorney
About the role
The Guardianship Advocacy Program at Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada is seeking a full-time Staff Attorney to provide creative and zealous advocacy to vulnerable seniors and adults facing guardianship.
Responsibilities
- Interview clients at their residences
- Meet with interested parties
- Negotiate with opposing counsel
- Conduct discovery
- Represent clients in court
- Continue representation throughout the life of the guardianship
- Protect client interests when issues arise
Requirements
- Commitment to public interest law and community service
- Desire to work with and advocate for vulnerable clients
- Licensed attorney in good standing from any United States jurisdiction (Nevada offers special licensing)
- Desirable to speak Spanish
Qualifications
No prior experience is necessary as Legal Aid Center provides extensive training. The program is the first and only practice of its kind in the United States and is a model for other states.
Skills
- Strong litigation experience (helpful but not required)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Benefits
- Starting salary range is $70,000 to $100,000 depending on experience, with annual increases available

Pay
Starting salary range is $70,000 to $100,000 depending on experience, with annual increases available.
