About the role

Provides technical customs regulations expertise to internal and external customers pertaining to Canadian and international customs regulations and legislation. Acts as a qualified representative for FedEx management in customs consulting to customers and global sales. Provides customer satisfaction through efficient problem resolution. Plans and implements GTS projects as assigned and works as a management assist person. Interacts with local government agencies to protest and resolve Administrative Monetary Penalty System (AMPS) penalties.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver customs consulting to internal and external customers on Canadian and international regulations.
  • Represent FedEx management in customs-related matters for customers and global sales.
  • Resolve customer issues efficiently to ensure satisfaction.
  • Plan and execute GTS projects as assigned.
  • Assist management with customs compliance and operational tasks.
  • Engage with local government agencies to address and resolve AMPS penalties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational qualification.
  • CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) designation (must maintain while in this role).
  • Minimum 3.5 years of experience in Global Trade Services (GTS), including commodity classification, valuation laws, and other governmental agency requirements.
  • Must achieve annual recurrency points for CCS designation.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Senior Broker is preferred.
  • Must be Excel-certified or complete the professional development stream within one year of start date.
  • In-office position supporting the YOW brokerage team.
  • Bilingual (French and English) required for incumbents in Quebec.

Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of GTS clearance systems.
  • Knowledge of FedEx Express operations, systems, and procedures.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Additional Information

Work shifts may vary based on operational needs.

For positions requiring driving as a core competency, candidates must hold a valid driver’s license (e.g., Class 5, G, or 1 [AZ]) and have no more than two infractions and/or accidents in the 24 months prior to application. Candidates will be evaluated based on their annual driving record, interview performance, and results from administered driving assessments.
