About the role
The GSRP Assistant Teacher provides high quality education and care to children enrolled in the Early Childhood Program under the supervision of the Director of Early Childhood Education and a Lead Teacher.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the ongoing program evaluation using CLASS.
- Collaborate with Lead Teacher to create meaningful child development goals.
- Conduct (2) home visits and (2) parent/teacher conferences with the Lead Teacher annually for every child and family.
- Help with coordination of two family fun night activities per year.
- Aid in the production of comprehensive lesson plans compliant with center curriculum.
- Consistently implement and oversee the implementation of appropriate conflict resolution steps and classroom licensing guidelines.
- Engage with parents/guardians through written, verbal and social media platforms building healthy relationships with parents/guardians, staff and children.
- Achieve compliance with State of Michigan Licensing at all times.
- Complete 24+ hours of professional development annually, CPR/First Aid as needed.
- Consistently demonstrate behaviors aligned with Greater Midland Values.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Minimum of a CDA in Preschool Setting.
- Experience working with children.
- TB and Fingerprint clearance required.
- CRR/1st Aid Certified.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Bending, twisting and reaching required.
- Ability to get up and down from floor/sitting position as required.
- Ability to walk while pushing stroller/buggy for minimum of 45 minutes.
