Group Therapist - Inpatient Psychiatry

About the role

The Group Therapist provides psycho-educational, skills-based, psychotherapeutic, and social groups to individuals receiving care on Inpatient Psychiatry.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group sessions for patients
• Collaborate and consult with multidisciplinary team members (attending psychiatrists, resident psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other group therapists)
• Assess new patients
• Provide individual support to patients as needed
• Perform administrative and organizational tasks, including:
  • Timely and satisfactory documentation
  • Participation in committees dedicated to improving patient care
  • Ordering materials for use in groups

Requirements

• Master's Degree
• Training and experience facilitating groups
• Employment experience providing groups in a mental health environment preferred
