GROUP SUPERVISOR

About the role

The Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center (DCJDC), located in Downtown Nashville next to the Tennessee Titans stadium, is dedicated to providing a safe, supportive environment for at-risk youth. As a Group Supervisor, you will lead and mentor Direct Juvenile Support Workers while supervising both staff and students. You will ensure adherence to facility schedules, model ROP programming, and support youth aged 12-18 through education, counseling, medical, and recreation services.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and supervision to Direct Juvenile Support Workers, Coach Counselors, and Night Coach Counselors.
• Monitor and engage with staff and students on units, in education, and during ROP activities.
• Ensure staff and students adhere to facility and daily schedules, including timeliness and participation in required programs.
• Serve as a role model for staff and students by leading by example and modeling ROP programming.
• Document behavior and assist in programs supporting youth growth and development.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience working with at-risk youth.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug test, physical, and TB test.
• Must pass a search of the child and adult abuse central registry.
• Must meet requirements to become an ROP-eligible driver, including possessing an active Driver’s License.

Pay

$55,000–$60,000 annually; potential increases based on education and years of experience.

Schedule

• 3.5 days per week.
• Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM (12-hour shift with a 1-hour break).
• Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 8:00 AM (12-hour shift with a 1-hour break).
