About the Role
The Group Sales Manager sets the tone for Sonesta’s Culture of Caring. Leaders are expected to focus on creating amazing moments for guests and team members while driving success for their team. This role is responsible for effectively soliciting and becoming familiar with all accounts in their market segments, prospecting, and closing on assigned accounts to positively impact hotel revenues. The ideal candidate has a passion for building and motivating teams that achieve results and is a guest-focused, achievement-oriented leader.
Responsibilities
- Prospect, solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat business to maximize revenue and achieve or exceed budgeted revenue and solicitation goals.
- Develop and execute action plans against existing and new target accounts to achieve and exceed sales quotas within the assigned segment.
- Represent the hotel at local trade shows, community events, industry meetings, sales trips, and blitzes.
- Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, activities, and events.
- Travel locally to conduct outside calls and gather competitive and customer insights.
- Conduct professional, thorough site inspections of the hotel with clients, highlighting key features and benefits.
- Prepare and present effective, persuasive presentations to prospective clients.
- Prepare and present status and period-end reports, maintain organized documentation, and coordinate customer service requirements with hotel operations staff.
- Attend weekly sales, revenue, and department meetings.
- Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing with budgeting, forecasting, and special projects as assigned.
- Develop key focus areas and markets for sales solicitation and prospecting.
- Create personal sales campaigns and promotions to generate leads, promote the hotel, and increase visibility.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition, and customers.
- Collaborate with resources across departments and the corporate office.
- Lead by example, operating with integrity, respect, and inspiring coworkers to embrace Sonesta’s core values and guest service standards.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Pay
Pay Range: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and specific experience or overall experience.
