Position Summary

At Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch, Group Home Therapists are integral members of the interdisciplinary care team for adolescents facing emotional, behavioral, psychiatric, and developmental challenges. They provide evidence-based interventions to support the mental health and well-being of the youth under their caseload. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and working with various funding agencies while adhering to regulatory guidelines.

Daily And Monthly Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing individual, family, and group therapy in alignment with clinical standards and the needs of the youth and family.
  • Complete all clinical paperwork in a timely manner according to YBGR standards and applicable licensing and accreditation requirements.
  • Offer regular and ongoing treatment supervision and documentation for the service area.
  • Communicate the justification for continued need for treatment at the Group Home level of care.
  • Adhere to ethical codes including: The Child and Youth Worker Code of Ethics, The National Association of Social Worker Code, and The American Psychological Association Code.
  • Perform psychological testing and intake assignments as directed by the supervisor.
  • Engage in clinical training and supervision of master-level interns as required by licensure as an independent practitioner.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years old or older.
  • Criminal/Child Abuse Clearance: Required, must pass background checks as mandated by the State of Montana.
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field.
  • Current Montana SWLC, PCLC, or MFLC license, or obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Current Montana LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT license.

Required Abilities/Skills

  • Ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with youth and families.
  • Collaborative and cooperative working style with the treatment team.
  • Compliance with ethical codes and adherence to professional boundaries and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of behavior modification and age-appropriate child development.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and quick learning of YBGR-selected software solutions.
  • Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Self-motivation, self-discipline, and diligence, with a forward-thinking approach.
  • Team-oriented mindset, prioritizing collective success over individual achievements.
  • Ability to demonstrate faith, integrity, relationship, stewardship, and willingness to obtain certifications in First Aid/CPR and Violence Intervention Prevention.
