Group Home Supervisor

About the role

Supervises and coordinates activities of Direct Support employees and manages operations, staffing, and budget of 1-3 ICF/IDD facility/facilities assigned. You will seek to understand the individuals in the context of their personal history, their social and family networks, and their hopes and dreams for the future. Ensures that people supported have a clean and maintained home and yard. Typically reports to the Administrator of a location or a Qualified Professional.

Responsibilities

• Interview and hire Personal Care Assistants, delegate work activities, prepare employee schedules, and ensure adequate staffing coverage at all times
• Perform all personal care duties that Personal Care Assistants perform, such as personal hygiene tasks, meal preparation, and goal implementation
• Work closely with clinical and professional healthcare staff to maintain communication and provide feedback, standardize procedures, and expedite the implementation of person-centered plans
• Spend adequate time in the residential facility monitoring and providing feedback to staff on all three shifts regarding interactions and relationships with people supported
• Maintain harmony between employees and clients while serving as a positive role model
• Resolve employee issues and conduct performance reviews
• Ensure employees meet training requirements and attend required events
• Monitor select budget items and stay within guidelines
• Provide after-hours and on-call coverage as part of the direct care rotation

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (college training in Human Services, Social Work, or Management preferred)
• One year of experience working with the population served and competency in supervisory skills
• Valid driver’s license and automotive insurance
• Flexible schedule and availability to provide on-call coverage as needed
• Ability to lift between 20 and 50 lbs. and provide CPR after certification
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen
• CPR, first aid, NCI, and/or MedTech certification (a plus)

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to lift 20 lbs., with a minimum lift requirement of 40 lbs.
• Must be able to pull a minimum of 25 lbs.
• Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop
• Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Required to regularly stand and walk
• Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level, requiring work on hands, knees, bending, standing, and lifting
• Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision
• Must be able to talk and hear

$20.00/hour
